Operation Forager

Join WWII historian Martin K.A. Morgan for an exclusive, small-group tour of no more than 5 guests as you island hop across the Pacific. This immersive journey offers a deep dive into the history of Guam, Saipan, and Tinian, with an optional extension to Peleliu.

The Marianas Campaign during the summer of 1944 resulted in the capture of Saipan, Tinian, and Guam. After the fighting came to an end, the U.S. military then built airfields on each of these islands that eventually decided the outcome of the Pacific war because they made a dramatic escalation of the strategic air campaign against the Japanese home islands possible - an escalation that culminated in the August 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Without the capture of Saipan, Tinian and Guam, none of this would have been possible and the war's outcome would have been very different.

The telltale signs of World War II can still be seen everywhere you look in the Marianas today: from abandoned airfields, tanks, coastal artillery guns and bunkers, to unexploded ordnance and even human remains. These islands remain haunted by the World War II battles that took place on them eight decades ago and this tour will explore each one.
