How is Compass Travel different from others travel agencies?

Compass Travel specializes in customized international travel planning—done differently.

Instead of relying on bulk packages or generic booking systems like many agencies, we hand-select routes, hotels, and experiences based on your personal travel style.

Our process allows us to source better prices and build itineraries faster.

 

What does it cost to work with you?

We don't charge fees for most of our services, as long as we are booking your accommodations for all nights of your travel and you're paying for your accommodations with money and not points/miles/timeshare.


If you need help researching or booking flights but are not reserving accommodations through us for each night of your trip (or if you're using points, miles, or a timeshare for your stay), we charge a fee of $20 per person, per day. 


This is because airlines do not pay commissions to travel agents—our earnings primarily come from commissions on hotels and cruises. 

 

How do I get started?

Please click on the Schedule an Appointment link to schedule an initial consultation with us. We’re available on evenings and weekends to fit your schedule.

 

What does the planning process look like?

To begin, we'll ask you some questions through email or arrange a convenient time for a consultation. This will enable us to gather the necessary information and understand your travel preferences better.

Then, we'll create a basic, initial itinerary that's customized to you. At this point, we ask that you commit to utilizing our services moving forward. By doing so, we can dive deeper into refining the quote and itinerary until we find the perfect fit for you.

 

How do we communicate during the process?

We can communicate with you via email, text message, or phone. We also have video call appointments available for clients located anywhere in the US, and our Tarpon Springs, FL office has in-person appointments available by request.

 

How long does it typically take to complete a booking/project?

Our typical turnaround time for an initial proposal is 24-48 hours after consultation.  This can sometimes be longer based on the type of trip or our workload at the time.

 

Can you help with last-minute trips?

We unfortunately can’t often help with last minute trips.

Do you offer support while I’m traveling?

Yes, we offer options for either basic or immediate assistance while you are traveling. 

Our Basic Assistance is complimentary for all trips. We provide ongoing support throughout your journey, offering assistance with transportation, tour, or hotel issues, or itinerary adjustments with a guaranteed call, email, text back within 24 hours (usually within a few hours ).

Our Immediate Assistance is included at no cost for clients spending over $700 a night in hotel, cruise, and tour spend. (Not including spend on flights, trains, car rentals, or shore excursions.) We provide ongoing support throughout your journey, offering assistance with transportation, tour, hotel issues, or itinerary adjustments via an exclusive 24/7 phone number.

Or it’s available for just a $10 per travel day fee (for up to 8 passengers on the same trip) for other trips.

Where are you located?

We have a physical office in Tarpon Springs, FL and a virtual office in Columbus, OH, and we serve clients nationwide.

 

What types of travelers are you best suited for?

We work with clients whose budgets range from mid-scale to luxury, and we generally don’t book ultra-budget accommodations such as hostels or budget hotels.

We can't book Airbnbs but can book luxury private villas.
